There is a very different tea called pearl milk tea. What is pearl milk tea? Actually, it was a combination of black tea, milk and tapioca balls. It was invented by a Taiwanese. In the early 1990s, tea shops were very popular in Taiwan. It’s just like Starbucks or Tim Horton's in Canada.

Tapioca balls is a tradition sweet dessert in Taiwan. They are very chewy and sweet. There were also a lot of shops sell tapioca balls. One day a man was drinking black tea and eating tapioca balls. He thought what if he eat and drink the two kinds of food at same time. Therefore, he mixed two of them, and it worked very well. How did it work? Black tea made tapioca balls taste not as sweet as it was, and tapioca balls were chewy. He also added some milk, so the tea was more smooth. A new sweet dessert was invented. The tapioca balls look like black pearl, so the guy called the dessert "pearl milk tea".

  2. Yes Tim it is exactly the same. I am not a fan of the pearls though. When I was about 10, I ate too much of those and ended up throwing up. Since then I never drink bubble tea with pearls.

  3. Tell you guys a truth, and Bubble tea is just "sugar water". and sometimes if you order a powder milk tea in some fruits flavor, it only would contain sugar and carbohydrates.
The tapioca balls are only worth for 0.99 cents that you could buy a whole package at T&T company.
However, I love drinking " cold milk tea" in some tea place, and I am addicted to it too no matter how fat it is.

  4. Yup it's ridiculous how much they change for a bubble tea these days. I stopped going once I realized the Green Apple bubble tea has zero apple ingredients and tones of food colorings. Not to mention it ended up costing me $5 bucks. No thank you!
